One college has announced it's closing an East Texas location because it's not "self-sustaining," and it's effective with the end of the fall semester.

Angelina College has facilities in Lufkin and Crockett, and the school announced plans to shut down the Crockett campus because it's not as productive as they need it to be.

The Angelina College Career and Technical Center in Crockett will close at the end of the fall semester, and students attending classes there will have move to the high school or take classes online.  Or they could drive fifty minutes to the main campus in Lufkin.

The main Angelina College location in Lufkin has about 5300 students and they won't see any changes, other than perhaps having a few new Crockett friends sitting next to them in class starting in January.

The main campus has 20 buildings situated along Highway 59 South in Lufkin and serves all twelve East Texas counties.  About half of the students who attend AC are from Lufkin, and the other half from the surrounding area, with a few from neighboring states.

Go Roadrunners!  The main campus is showing no signs of slowing down.
