Meet Ma'Kenzie Arriola.

This beautiful young lady is 7-years-old and suffers from a severe form of type 1 Diabetes.  She was diagnosed with this at the age of 1.

She also has developed kidney issues, and it's estimated that 35% of her brain has been damaged which has led to learning disabilities.

On Saturday, a community 5K walk will held in Woodville to raise diabetes awareness in general,  but also to help raise funds for a service alert dog. This dog would be able to alert others when Ma'Kenzie registers a rise or drop in blood sugar.  This immediate notification would help avert seizures.  It's these seizures that have caused so many of the additional medical issues in Ma'Kenzie's life.

The 5K Walk will get underway at 8 A.M. on Saturday, November 19th.  In addition to the walk, there will live auctions, chili cook off, face painting, photo booth, and more.  For more details, please contact Jessica Lockhart at 409-617-9729.
