Blue Bell Ice Cream Licker Posted Bond Of $1,000
ANOTHER ICE CREAM LICKER? C'MON....
A Texas man who was caught on camera licking a tub of Blue Bell ice cream at a Port Arthur Walmart has posted $1,000 bond after surrendering to police today (August 23).
According to NBC News 4 San Antonio, D'Adrien Anderson was booked after turning himself in Thursday (August 22) after being identified on social media which shows him removing a container of Blue Bell ice cream Monday night and licking it before putting it away.
Anderson put the container back in the refrigerated section and walked off before returning and picking up the same container and bought it himself.
The store has lost revenue because they had to replace the ice cream and charges came from the overall loss and the legal investigation.
District Attorney Bob Wortham said in a statement,
This guy loves publicity even if it's for the wrong reason," said Wortham. "That can lead to bigger and worse things. If we're going to save this guy, we have to do it with this case or he's over the hill.
For those who don't know food tampering in Texas is considered a Class A Misdemeanor and he could face up to one year in jail and fined up to $4,000.
