If the question is who are the most influential names in the history of Broadway, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber would certainly be in the top ten.

'Evita', 'Jesus Christ Superstar', 'Beauty & the Beast', 'The Lion King', 'Chess', 'Cats', and 'Phantom of the Opera' are just a few of the productions for which Rice and/or Lloyd are responsible.   One of the their earliest collaborations is coming to Lufkin.

'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' is coming to the Temple Theater in Lufkin for two shows on September 16th and 17th.  This is the Broadway National Tour and Lufkin will mark the first performance of the tour.  This means that many of the production's directors will be flying in from New York to attend the shows.

This is an irresistible family musical about the trials and triumphs of Joseph, Israel’s favorite son. Directed by Tony Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler, this new production is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colors. Filled with unforgettable songs: including “Go Go Go Joseph”, “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door”, it is a timeless story of victory over obstacles that encourages us all.

Church youth groups are highly encouraged to attend and keep in mind that youth tickets are half price.
