Can We End The Streak Of Daily Texas Road Deaths?
If you truly cared about children, pets, and other humans, you would drive better. They are all out on the roads while you drive on, staring at your phone. Doing a bit of quick math from this story, 75,000 people in Texas have died on the roads since 2000. That's the population of Lufkin and Nacogdoches. Every last one of us just gone. It's serious on the road, think of the worst health issues of the world. None of them are deadlier than just driving around town.
TxDot urges drivers to "End The Streak" of daily deaths. At least one person, with an average of 10 people, die on Texas roads every day. We haven't had a death free day since 2000. Today November 7, marks the last deathless day on Texas roadways. We can end this streak before 2050 if we all pay attention.
Buckle seatbelts – all passengers need to be buckled
Pay attention – put phones away and avoid distractions.
Never drink and drive or do drugs and drive –get a sober ride home
Drive the speed limit – obey speed limits and drive slower when weather conditions warrant
