Chireno, Diboll, Hudson, Lufkin and Others Continue Playoff Runs

Numerous baseball and softball teams from across the Pineywoods are continuing their march toward Austin and the UIL State Playoffs.  Baseball teams are moving into the third round of the playoffs, while next up for softball teams it's time for the regional semifinals, except in Class A where Chireno is having a Regional Final showdown.

Here's a look at the upcoming playoff schedule for area baseball teams

Class 5A

Lufkin vs Cleburne (Best of 3 Series)

• Game 1, Thursday, May 12 - 7 p.m. at Lufkin (Cleburne wins 7-3)
• Game 2, Friday, May 13 - 7 p.m. at North Forney
• Game 3 (if necessary) - TBD

CLASS 4A

Hudson vs Carthage (Best of 3 series, all games in Nacogdoches)

• Game 1 - Thursday, May 19, 4 p.m. (Hudson wins 6-2)
• Game 2 - Friday, May 20, 7 p.m.
• Game 3 (if necessary), Saturday, May 21, noon

Rusk vs China Spring (One game series)

• Saturday, May 21 - 7 p.m. at Crandall High School

Livingston vs Orangefield (Best of 3 Series)

• Game 1 - Thursday, May 19 - 7 p.m. at Port Neches-Groves High School (Orangefield wins 12-6)
