For most school districts across East Texas, it's time for summer vacation.  The graduations, end of school parties, and goodbyes have taken place and most students are thinking about the fun that lies ahead for the next couple of months.

However, that's not the case for several high school baseball and softball teams across the Pineywoods.  There's still some important business to take care of.

Let's start with softball.  It's time for the UIL Texas State Tournament in Austin.  The last four teams from each conference have punched their ticket for the opportunity to be crowned champions.  Two softball teams from Deep East Texas will be taking the field this week at Red & Charline McCombs Field on the campus of the University of Texas.
