Forest Festival, Pom Squads, And The Wienermobile Are Coming
The 27th annual Texas State Forest Festival gets underway tonight at the George H. Henderson Jr. Expo Center in Lufkin.
The event runs through Sunday and will include great favorites like carnival rides, lumberjack competition, concerts, hushpuppy cooking championships, and, of course, tonight's kick off of the KICKS 105 Pom Squad/Dance Team championships.
Beginning at 7 tonight, teams from Lufkin, Diboll, Huntington, Onalaska, Timpson, Pineywoods Academy, Hudson, and Center will compete in middle school and high school divisions of the Pom Squad/Dance Team championships.
On Saturday, there will also be a special appearance by the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile. It will be parked at the Expo Center between 10-4.
