Area Dance Teams Get Set to Compete at the Texas Forest Festival

Who will be tops in Pom this year?

The annual KICKS 105 Pom Pon/Dance Team competition will kick off the Texas State Forest Festival on Wednesday, September 16th at the George H Henderson, Jr. Expo Center in Lufkin. 

Over the years middle school and high school teams from Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Hudson, Huntington, Diboll, Central, Pineywoods Community Academy, Center, Livingston, Onalaska, West Sabine, and others have participated in several categories of dance such as jazz, pom pon, lyrical, and hip hop.

Trophies are awarded for the top three finishers in each category and there is no entry fee. The Academy of Gymnastics and Dance sponsors the event and they always bring the crowd to their feet with a special performance during the competition.
