According to a press release, the City of Nacogdoches will offer COVID-19 vaccinations, free of charge, at the 31st Annual Texas Blueberry Festival presented by Tipton Ford. Vaccinations will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 12 at the downtown Fire Station, 212 E. Pilar St.

“We are very happy to see that the City of Nacogdoches is offering to provide vaccinations for people attending the blueberry festival. The Chamber hopes to provide a wonderful festival, and we are encouraging attendees to comply with COVID-19 protocols of social distancing, washing hands and wearing masks. A supply of masks will be available at the Chamber Information Booth,” said Nacogdoches County Chamber President/CEO C. Wayne Mitchell.

Attendees will need to fill out a one page consent form when they arrive at the fire station and will then receive their vaccination.  These Moderna vaccination shots are free and available to anyone. Since these are the Moderna variety, those receiving the vaccine will need to schedule their second dose, which will be given around three weeks following their shot at the Blueberry Festival.  No residency restrictions apply. Those under 18 must have a parent or guardian present.
