COVID-19 testing continues to be in demand across East Texas.  In many instances, students who have been exposed to the virus need to show a negative test to gain re-entry to in person classes.  While more and more employers are requiring their workers to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test when employees prefer not to get a vaccine.

According to a press release, Nacogdoches County and the City of Nacogdoches recently announced that they would be partnering with HealthTrackRx to launch a temporary COVID-19 testing site in Nacogdoches. Drive-thru testing will be available at no cost to the patient beginning Wednesday, September 15 and continuing through the end of the month.

Located at the Nacogdoches County Exposition Center parking lot (3805 NW Stallings Drive), the site will operate seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Appointments are encouraged and can be made by selecting a day and time in the online portal at https://bit.ly/ngscovidtest. As of this posting on Tuesday afternoon, numerous appointments are available beginning on Wednesday morning.

There is no out of pocket expense for the testing, however insured patients are asked to bring their insurance card so HealthTrackRx may file and be reimbursed for offering the testing service. The COVID-19 test being performed is the PCR test, also called a molecular test. It is conducted with a nasal swab while the patient remains in the car. Results from the test can be expected within 24 hours.
