Garth Brooks Says This Kid’s Throwback Garth Costume Just Won Halloween
Garth Brooks got such a kick out of a young fan's Halloween costume that he offered him passes to an upcoming show, proclaiming that he "wins Halloween" this year.
Andrea Houser shared snapshots online of her nephew's costume, complete with Brooks' signature black-and-white dress shirt paired with a white cowboy hat. However, the best part of the costume was undoubtedly the stadium — yes, this fan wore a stadium as part of his Garth Brooks Halloween costume.
The excited aunt wrote a note to the real Brooks via social media about her nephew's getup, using Brooks' most popular song titles.
"Tonight I am Callin’ Baton Rouge and all of Knoxville over my nephew’s amazing “Garth at Neyland Stadium” costume," she proclaimed. "Cause We ain’t goin down til the Sun Comes Up being so excited over the Stadium Tour being at Neyland in a couple weeks. Even if The Thunder Rolls, we have enough Friends in Low Places to be completely Shameless over this concert! And if Tomorrow Never Comes, this Halloween costume will be More than a Memory for all of us celebrating The Dance tonight."
"This costume WINS Halloween in my book," Brooks wrote back to Houser via Instagram. "ASK ME HOW I KNOW your nephew is MUCH TOO YOUNG to be spending the weekend in the deep end of a DIVE BAR, but for making my Halloween does he want to be our guest at #GARTHinKNOXVILLE?"
The costume was inspired by Brooks' upcoming concert on Nov. 16 at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn. The show will be the first concert held at the stadium in more than 16 years, and only the third concert to ever take place at the venue. As of Friday (Oct. 25), Brooks has sold more than 75,000 tickets, a record for the stadium. The show is expected to welcome 80,000 fans next month.
Brooks is currently conducting two separate tours at once, and they're about as opposite as they could possibly be. His ongoing Stadium Tour finds him performing in some of the largest venues in the country, while his Dive Bar Tour in support of his new Blake Shelton collaboration, "Dive Bar," features Brooks performing in the kinds of intimate venues where he launched his career.
Garth Brooks tickets are available for his upcoming shows.
