Georgia-Pacific Names New Plant Manager at Diboll, Texas Facility
Congratulations are in order for Lufkin, Texas native Andrew Dover. He has been named plant manager for Georgia-Pacific’s Diboll Particleboard facility. His duties as plant manager include overseeing daily plant operations, including safety, environmental excellence, and stewardship. Additionally, he is responsible for creating long-term sustainability for the facility, its employees and the community.
A graduate of Texas A & M University with a degree in environmental geo-science, Andrew Dover joined Georgia-Pacific’s Diboll Particleboard Plant in 2015 as a shift supervisor. Most recently he held the position of production superintendent where he was responsible for overseeing the plant’s day-to-day operations.
Dover resides in Lufkin with his wife, Maci, and their son, Garrett.
Diboll Particleboard began operations in 1997 and employs more than 100 people. The plant produces product that is used to make items such as furniture, cabinets, shelving and vanities.
Diboll Particleboard has also long been a steward to the Diboll community. One of their traditional programs of giving back to the community is 'Operation Clean Sweep'. This program helps the elderly and disabled residents with minor home repairs, yard work, and the construction of ramps and porches.
Each year a group of employees spends one to two weekends participating in this annual event. In 2022, the Diboll Particleboard employees spent a weekend sprucing up the yard and cleaning out the garage of an elderly Diboll resident.
In addition to volunteer efforts, Georgia-Pacific donated $5,000 to purchase materials and supplies for Operation Clean Sweep in 2022.
Georgia-Pacific operates more than 150 facilities nationwide and employs approximately 30,000 people.
