Day number one of the Sealy Outdoors Fall Shoot Out is in the books, and an angler for the Dallas/Fort Worth area has staked his claim for the grand prize valued at $55,000. But, as tournament director Bob Sealy so often points out..."It ain't over 'til it's over."

The morning started off on a high note as the first bass of morning weighed in at 7.28 pounds.  Nacogdoches native William Boyer earned the top spot of the 7 am hour and a check for $1,000.

In the next hour, Mike Davidson of Coldspring took over the tournament lead with a fish that topped the scales at 8.98 pounds. That's the way things stayed until a breakout noon hour. Three out of the top five big bass were brought in during the 12 pm hour.

Shane Calvert, an 18-year-old from Coldspring brought in a massive 9.42 bass. Soon thereafter, Thomas Burrous of Huntington weighed in an 8+ pounder. Then, Brandon Hohenstein of Aubrey, Texas brought in a bass that he caught in the noon hour.  That fish topped the scales at 10.30 pounds.
