In a story originally reported by the louisianaradionetwork.com, we learn that Cordish is a leader in the gaming development industry and according to Gaming Control Board Chair Ronnie Johns, Cordish is planning to spend over a quarter of a billion dollars on the Diamond Jacks renovations.

“We’re anticipating probably a $275 million project up in Bossier City. Complete renovation. A land-based casino.”

Johns added that Diamond Jacks is 77,000 square feet gaming, entertainment, and dining venue, and Cordish is planning renovations for all of it.

“A lot of demolition work. It’s basically bringing it down to the bones. The old riverboat that was there, they couldn’t float it out so it’s having to be scrapped piece by piece.”

Plans for the new casino include more than 47,000 square feet of gaming space, an upscale 550-room hotel, and 30 thousand square feet of first-class dining and entertainment venues.

Johns says that Cordish's new casino, which is expected to be open by late 2025, will be like nothing we've seen in North Louisiana before. “They’re going to build an entirely new land-based casino. There will be retail shopping there. There will be complete renovation of the swimming pool area. It will be a first-class property.”
