Man, I love grilled cheese sandwiches. They are one of life’s simple pleasures that I will never grow tired of. I guarantee you that if I had all the money in the world, I would still regularly grub out on them.

That said, I can’t remember the last time I ordered a grilled cheese from a restaurant. I don’t know why, I just never think about it. I also know how to make them just the way I like them, so there’s that also.

Anyway, I came across a list of the best grilled cheese sandwiches in every state by Love Food. Being a grilled cheese lover, I just had to click in to see where to get the best grilled cheese in Texas, and I must admit to being a bit disappointed.

Don’t get me wrong, the Barbacoa Grilled Cheese from Barrio Barista Coffee in San Antonio looks delicious. It’s just that most people I know wouldn’t consider the sandwich to be a true grilled cheese. In my opinion, if the sandwich has meat on it, it’s a melt, not a grilled cheese.

Regardless, hats off to Barrio Barista for their ingenuity. If there’s one thing we love here in the Lone Star State, it’s barbecue. So, you can’t go wrong with slapping a little barbacoa and avocado on a sandwich in this part of the country.
