Lady Panthers Hosting Soccer Showcase Tourney

High school soccer season is here and a number of varsity and junior varsity soccer teams will be converging onto the campus of Lufkin High School today through Saturday. 

The Lady Pack Soccer Showcase gets underway at 11 Thursday morning and continues through 5 Saturday afternoon.  In addition to Lufkin, teams from Nacogdoches, Livingston, Hudson, Longview, Tyler Lee, John Tyler, Willis and Huntsville will be featured.

The weather forecast is looking good for the tourney as high temperatures in the 50s and 60s are expected with more and more sunshine through Saturday.  This showcase is not only a chance for these young ladies to see how they stack up against other teams, but this is also an opportunity for college coaches to take a look at prospective players.

Concessions will be available and some of the soccer dads will be on hand cooking up BBQ.
