Late Night Blaze Causes Major Damage at Lufkin Apartment Complex

According to a report from the Lufkin Police Department, the Lufkin Fire Department responded to a blaze at Stephens Court Apartments at 1611 E. Denman Avenue. The call came in at 12:37 a.m.

The fire started in a ground floor apartment and quickly spread through several upstairs apartments and eventually, through the roof. Apartments 2 through 14 were affected.

Red Cross responded and provided assistance to the displaced families.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
