Thursday Mutton Busters

Night number one of the Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo and Steer Show produced some great rides before the actual rodeo even got under way at 7:30.  That's because at 7 we kicked off our annual mutton bustin' competition.

15 youngsters from around Nacogdoches and Angelina counties tried their best to ride sheep for the best score possible.  Thursday's top rides belonged to Ainsley Johnson - 80 of Central, and Kannon Craig - 79 of Nacogdoches.

We'll be mutton bustin' Friday and Saturday as well, so be sure and get to the Nacogdoches County Expo and Civic Center by 7 to catch all the fun action.  A special shout out to the Kings Highway Country Church in Douglass for providing all the volunteers for the mutton bustin'.
