The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) is seeking the public’s help in locating a wanted fugitive who is suspected of sexual abuse of a child.

A warrant was issued Thursday for the arrest of Jose Uriel Rendon, 52.  The NCSO has had an ongoing investigation on Rendon after a victim made an outcry of sexual assault. Rendon had agreed to meet with investigators on Monday morning to discuss the allegations against him, but never showed up. Investigators have learned that Rendon has been gone from his residence since Tuesday and is believed to be on the run from law enforcement.

Rendon, who is a pastor at Templo De Fe Church in Nacogdoches County, allegedly used his position in the church to take advantage and sexually assault a child. It is believed that during the years of 2004 and 2005, the suspect, Jose Rendon sexually abused the child over 50 times while maintaining his position as the pastor of the church.

Investigators obtained enough probable cause for a warrant for Rendon’s arrest for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, a 1st degree felony.

Rendon is known to have family in the Tyler and Dallas area as well as Mexico. If you have information on the whereabouts of Jose Rendon, you are asked to contact the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office at 936-560-7777 or your local law enforcement agency.

This is an ongoing investigation, and the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office believes that there may be more victims in this case. We would urge any victims to contact the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office.
