October Is Here, Even If You Can’t Tell By The Temperature
It's so hard to believe that we're already at October 2019. We have officially made it through three-quarters of the year. However, you can't tell that by the temperatures.
So we've officially been in the fall season for a week now. It started on September 23rd. That should mean a few different things, even here in East Texas. It should mean that trees and other plants are putting on fall foliage colors, and it should mean that temperatures will be getting - at least somewhat - cooler.
I personally am not seeing either one of these things. I realize it takes a while for the leaves to change colors, yes. But the forecast for October 1st is a whopping 93°. Ninety. Three. Degrees. Are you guys wrapping your head around this??? NINETY-THREE DEGREES.
We are just over two months away from Christmas, and we are only seven degrees away from triple-digit temperatures! We have hunters going out in shorts and tank-tops going after deer! I mean, my goodness, they'd die of heat strokes if they went out in full camo right now.
It should go without saying, but I'm going to do it anyway. Be careful out there. Just because the calendar says that it's fall, doesn't mean that the weather has made it there yet. Stay hydrated, and get ready, because - at some point - we'll be experiencing fall weather...maybe...
