Scott McCreery on American Idol [VIDEO]

Did you watch American Idol last night? What did you think of 16-year-old Scott McCreery?

For being so young, I couldn't believe (and neither could the judges) how deep and powerful his voice was! Hopefully he'll make it far in the competition; to bring back some good country music on American Idol. For his audition, McCreery sang "Your Man" by Josh Turner, after telling the judges that he's been singing country music his whole life, thanks to his mama's lullabies. The judges were impressed; Jennifer Lopez said “You make me smile,” immediately after he stopped singing, and Randy Jackson said "I love it!” (it's good to see a)“throwback country guy singing low like that.”

To show that he had range and variety, the Garner, N.C. teenager sang  Travis Tritt‘s ‘Put Some Drive in Your Country,' helping him grab a golden ticket to Hollywood.
