The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center is forecasting the possibility of an outbreak of strong to severe storms across south and southeast Texas this afternoon and evening.

A slow-moving cool front will push eastward across Texas this afternoon bringing with it the possibility of hail up to the size of golf balls, strong downburst winds gusting to over 50 mph, and heavy downpours.  As of this posting, tornadoes were NOT indicated to be a strong possibility.

The best chances of severe weather will take place in an area which includes San Antonio, Austin, College Station, Houston, and into Polk County.  Strong to severe storms could also move into the Lufkin/Nacogdoches area, however, the chances for these storms are higher as you move to the south and southwest of Angelina and Nacogdoches Counties.

Another round of severe weather is possible this Saturday and Sunday across most of the Pineywoods. Be sure to download the KICKS 105 App to have immediate weather and news bulletins sent to your smartphone.
