Someone in a Small Texas Town Wins $7.5 Million on Scratch Off
There are three Texas Lottery $100 scratch-off games currently in circulation.
There's the $20 Million Supreme Game with a top payout of $20 million. Three out of the top four prizes have been won in this game. The winning tickets were sold in Boerne, Fort Worth, and La Feria.
The $400 Million Mega Bucks Game features four top prizes of $5 million each. So far, none of those have been claimed.
Then, there's the Loteria Supreme Scratch Off which features four jackpots of $7.5 million. Two of those four have been won, including one in just the past few days.
$7.5 Million Winner in La Vernia, Texas
La Vernia, Texas is about a 30-minute drive from downtown San Antonio. Located southeast of the Alamo City, La Vernia is still far enough to keep its rural identity.
According to the 2022 census, the town's population is a little over 1200.
A few days ago, somebody walked into a small Shell Food Mart convenience store and spent $100 on a Loteria Supreme Scratch-Off ticket.
I can only imagine the flood of emotions that individual had when they double and triple-checked their scratch-off ticket and realized that their tax bracket was about to undergo a major change.
According to the Texas Lottery website, the winning ticket was turned in to a Texas Lottery claim center on April 11. Chances are we will never know the identity of the winner.
By the way, the other winner of one of those Supreme Loteria jackpots purchased the winning ticket in Nederland.
