Beginning this afternoon and continuing through Sunday, a major rain event is expected across the eastern third of Texas, including the Pineywoods.

A cold front is expected to push through later this evening and then stall just to the south of us.

This means that over the course of the next several days 2-3 inches of rain will be rather common in the area, with up to and over 7 inches possible in some parts of East Texas.   Unfortunately, severe storms with large hail and damaging winds are also expected, especially this afternoon and tonight.
