One More Rainy Day Then a Sunny, Warmer Weekend Ahead
Tropical Storm Beta made landfall Tuesday around Port O'Connor and floods from surge and heavy downpours have been the biggest issues with the system. Numerous schools in the Houston area are closed Wednesday due to 10-15 inches of rain that has fallen in the metro area. Flash Flood Warnings have also been posted Wednesday morning for portions of the Pineywoods.
More scattered showers are expected throughout Deep East Texas today, but that should be the end of the rain for us for a while. We've got sunshine and a warming trend on the way for this first weekend of Autumn. Cloud cover may hang around on Thursday, but beginning Friday we should expect temperatures in the mid 80s and heading to the upper 80s by the weekend.
Plus, according to the National Hurricane Center, it's an all-clear for the next week. There's nothing expected to develop in the Atlantic, Caribbean, or Gulf of Mexico. So, enjoy the sunshine and have a blessed weekend.
