I was taking a look around Facebook when I noticed my cousin, Richard Harvey, Jr. (No relation to Hurricane Harvey) when I saw how bad the water was, even north in The Woodlands. I had a chance to speak with Debra Harvey, (no relation to the Hurricane). She lives in The Woodlands in far north Harris County. She tells us about how things are for them at this time.

August in East Texas usually means heat, humidity, and dry conditions.  Well, this week will definitely be humid, but the temperatures may be a bit below normal as a week of high rainfall chances will invade the Pineywoods.

Saturday afternoon and evening, severe storms moved through Deep East Texas bringing heavy downpours, gusty winds, and reports of pea to marble sized hail.

In 2015 and 2016 in Deep East Texas, rainfall amounts in May were well above normal, but as soon as June came around, the rain slowed to a trickle.  In 2017, we have had another wet May and it looks like the first few days of June could bring downpours across the Pineywoods.
