A Look at the Nearly 200 Senior Salute East Texas Graduates
This is the 4th year we've teamed up with McWilliams & Son Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing, Kelly's Truck Parts, and KP2 Properties for our Senior Salutes.
We originally put this feature together for the graduates of 2020. These were the seniors who had to endure the terrible events of the first worldwide appearance of COVID-19. Many graduation ceremonies were either canceled or greatly altered. Many fun and anticipated senior events did not happen.
This was our way of doing something to help recognized the Class of 2020. We featured the seniors' accomplishments on the radio, we put together a photo gallery of the seniors, and we randomly awarded six 1,000 scholarships to those that entered.
As we enter our fourth year of the Senior Salutes, we salute the Class of 2023. These are the students that were freshmen when the pandemic hit. Even though a great deal of normalcy returned for this current graduating class, they still had to endure numerous hardships through their freshman and sophomore years.
In just a few days, we will be doing six random drawings. Each graduate will receive $1,000 that he or she can use to help with their continuing education or training. Perhaps a new computer, money for books, or just gas money for getting to and from classes.
We'd like to extend a big thanks to all the graduates in East Texas who sent in their entries. Take a look at our photo gallery of the Class of 2023 Senior Salute entrants below.
