Goodwill’s Orange Saturday Event is Coming October 12

If you're looking for a Halloween costume that's well within your budget, look no further than your local Goodwill store this Saturday.

Goodwill Central East Texas is kicking off the final 19 days of the Halloween season with its annual Orange Saturday event. It's an exciting day filled with Halloween spirit, exclusive deals, and spooky surprises.

“Orange Saturday is an opportunity for our community members to find great deals on Halloween costumes they are planning as well as fun Halloween decorations,” said Jennifer Autrey, Vice President of Retail Operations at Goodwill Central East Texas. “Shoppers are not only scoring great deals, but every purchase helps fund our mission programs, such as EmployABILITY and our CDL scholarships!"

According to Goodwill Industries International’s 2024 Halloween survey, more than half of Halloween celebrants (57%) are considering do-it-yourself costumes and secondhand décor as a means to save money.  Orange Saturday allows shoppers to save even more with hourly discounts throughout the day.

Other event highlights include:

• Door prizes and giveaways – The first 50 customers at each Goodwill Central East Texas Retail Store will receive a skeleton face LED lantern.  There will also be opportunities to win door prizes throughout the day.
• Meet the Sanderson Sisters! Straight from Salem, the Sanderson sisters will be making a special appearance to enchant and entertain guests of all ages at each of our Retail locations throughout the day. Check out their Facebook page to see times and locations for the Sanderson sister visits.
• Employee Costume Contest: Goodwill employees will be decked out in their best Halloween costumes, competing for the title of best dressed.  Stop in to see the costumes in person and then go online to vote for your favorite!
