East Texas – You Better Watch Out for Severe Weather, Tornadoes
Here's the Unofficial Forecast for Christmas Eve:
You better watch out, You better not fly, Be on the lookout, I'm telling you why...Thunderstorms are coming to town.
A front is expected to bring a chance of storms to east Texas on Christmas Eve. According to the Storm Prediction Center, strong to severe storms could pop off from Tyler to the Upper Texas coastline.

Wind and hail will be the biggest threats from any severe storms, however, an isolated tornado is not out of the question, especially in the Houston/Beaumont area.

Timing of The Storms
For Lufkin/Nacogdoches, the chances of rain will move to about 50% by mid-afternoon on Tuesday. The highest rain and storm chances will occur between 8 p.m. and midnight.
For Tyler/Longview, the chance of rain will jump to 70% by noon on Christmas Eve. The strongest storms are expected to occur between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., although thunderstorms could remain in the area well into the night.

The weather on Christmas should be nice with clearing skies throughout the afternoon. However, another round of showers and storms is expected to move in on Thursday night.
There could be some downpours, but as of now, no severe weather is expected from this second batch of storms.
How Much Rain?
This Tuesday through Friday, some areas in East Texas could get up to 4 inches of rain. Higher totals could happen from the Ark-La-Tex to Little Rock.
