Here's an opportunity for you to give back to someone who has made giving to others his life's work.

Norman Williams is the Assistant Police Chief for the City of Diboll. He has been with the police department there for 21 years. Williams is the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back, and then ask if you needed anything else.

Very recently, Williams was diagnosed with a medical emergency that caused him to have an unplanned liver transplant. That surgery happened just a few days ago in Houston and according to an update on Monday, doctors are reporting good progress for Williams, and no rejection so far of the new liver.

As you might expect, the bills for this unexpected surgery are quickly mounting. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Williams and his family offset some of the massive costs.

Williams' daughter, Lacey, explains in the post:

Hi my name is Lacey, and I am trying to help raise money for my dad Norman Williams and his medical expenses. My Dad is always willing to help others out whether it be family, friends or coworkers. He never hesitates to put others before himself, and this time he needs our help. My family needs help with the transplant cost, travel expenses, and rejection medication, as it was unplanned and we are in Houston patiently waiting for him to get out of surgery. Any blessings or donations would be will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The Diboll Police Department will soon be hosting a fundraiser. Anyone wanting to help can go to the GoFundMe account, or just stop by the Diboll Police Station during regular business hours.
