Update:

One Northbound lane has been reopened on South Broadway but commute will still be slowed.

Be prepared for a delay as you head to work this morning (January 10). Late Wednesday night (January 9), a truck collided with a motorcycle at South Broadway and Amherst in Tyler according to KLTV.

Firefighters had to be called to the scene because the truck had caught fire. That's when authorities discovered the motorcycle underneath. The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at UT Health East Texas in Tyler. The driver and passenger of the truck were transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

First responders had to work around downed, live power lines as the crash also knocked down power lines. Power is out in the area but is said to affect less than five residents.

Traffic now is closed on the Northbound side of South Broadway from Winchester to Amherst. Authorities has advising to find an alternate route this morning.

There is no estimation to when the area will re-open.
