Heavy Rains Cause Flooded Roadways in East Texas
As expected, 3-6 inches of rain fell across the Pineywoods on Friday, and that has led to numerous instances of water being over the road. The Texas Department of Transportation has compiled a list of Farm to Market Roads and State Highways that should be avoided for at least a good portion of the morning hours of Saturday. There are many county roads and less traveled streets that may also be under water.
This list will be updated during the mid-morning hours on Saturday. Although the Flash Flood Watch for East Texas has been dropped, periodic showers through the morning could still cause some minor flooding issues.
Motorists are urged to obey all traffic control devices. Do not drive around barricades or through flooded areas. Turn Around Don’t Drown. For statewide conditions, visit drivetexas.org.
