HOA Wants Texas Family To Remove Xmas Decor
Some members of a Texas homeowner's association are trying to ruin Christmas. If I had to guess the Grinch is their leader.
Fox News reports that Claudia Simonis decided to start decorating her yard with Christmas decorations on November 1st on account of her being eight months pregnant and thinking she might not be able to decorate at all after Thanksgiving.
"I feel kind of heavy, so the earlier we can put out the decorations, the better, because probably in two more weeks, I'm not going to be able to build all this."
-Claudia told WOAI
A perfectly good reason and honestly not very early, I was listening to Christmas music in September. All is well in the world, but then the villains arrive (bom, bom, baaam!![that's bad guy music]).
The HOA sent a letter on the 4th stating “Maintenance – Holiday Decorations Need To Be Removed,” giving no date just "closer to the holiday season".
The Simonis's are not having it. Nick, Claudia's husband said "We're not going to do it. It's the Christmas spirit. We're not going to be forced by the HOA to take it down." You go, Nick!
Some of their neighbors are also supporting the cause as well. Charles Minton who also put up a penguin or two said "These are the holidays. This is what we do."
In the end, it's not your yard, so bug off. If you like to decorate after Thanksgiving or at the start of December, maybe never that's fine, but don't be a Scrooge-Grinch monster!
