Lufkin Police Respond to Accidental Shooting Death of 2-Year-Old Boy
Tragic news coming this evening from the Lufkin Police as they are investigating what appears to be the accidental shooting death of a 2-year-old Lufkin boy. According to a release statement, at 8:46 p.m. today, officers responded to the call of a 2-year-old gunshot victim in the Inwood Terrace Subdivision (located in between South Chestnut and Tulane). Lufkin Fire paramedics rushed the boy to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The incident remains under investigation.
“Our Lufkin Police Department chaplains are responding to the hospital to be with the family,” Lufkin Police spokeswoman Jessica Pebsworth said. “Please pray for this family as they endure this tragic loss.”
