Lufkin Policeman Injured After Being Hit By Vehicle

UPDATE

The officer involved in the auto/pedestrian accident is identified as Seth Thompson. He is in stable condition and talking to doctors and family.

Nothing further at the moment, but please continue to pray for Seth, his wife Hannah and young son Stoke.

According to a release from the Lufkin Police Department, a Lufkin Police officer was struck by a vehicle while working a minor accident off of Timberland Drive this afternoon.

The initial minor accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. The vehicles involved pulled into the Cox Muffler parking lot, where the secondary accident which injured the officer occurred around 12:52 p.m.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is working the officer’s accident, so we will defer to them for the crash details/investigation.

The officer was conscious and alert following the crash and is being flown to an out of town hospital.  We are not releasing his name until all family notifications can be done.
