In celebration of "Limerick Day" here is Sean Ericson's submission:

There was a young lady named Merrell

Who boys dated at their own peril

So boys, don’t you dare honk

When you should walk up and knock

Or you will shake hands with Daddy’s gun barrel

Cat Lost in Tsunami Returns After 3 Years

From bbc.com -

Suika, a black short-haired cat, lived with it’s family until the tsunami struck on 11 March 2011. The family gathered together but their cat was nowhere to be seen. The couple searched for Suika for three months before giving up hope.

Fast forward 3 years later…

On 10 April another couple spotted a black cat curled up in a nearby pine forest. He was friendly and wore a collar, so they took the cat to a local animal shelter. After several days nobody had claimed the cat, so the centre put an announcement in a local paper. It was when an employee was taking a photo of the cat that he noticed the Yamagishi name and number in faded letters on the collar. The couple was located and the cat was returned home.
