Hero Dog Saves People and Shelter Animals: But Not Cats

From abc27.com -

Crews in Adams County, Pennsylvania were called to a morning fire at an exotic animal rescue after the family dog alerted his owners to the blaze.

The fire started around 5 a.m. and the two residents were able to escape without injury thanks to the clever dog.

Most of the animals were saved from the rescue, which was located in the basement of the home. Unfortunately two cats perished. A monkey is also reportedly missing.

The fire marshal is still investigating, though officials believe the cause was electrical in nature. The home did have working smoke detectors and thank goodness, a working dog.
