Welcome to East Texas, home of pine trees, chicken farms, and numerous lakes.  Trouble is most of those lakes are people's yards.  And it looks like the light at the end of the tunnel is yet another flash of lightning.

More heavy rains are predicted to fall across Deep East Texas during the Memorial Day Holiday weekend, in fact, the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for all of the area.  The watch will go into effect late tonight and basically go through a portion of Memorial Day Monday, depending upon which specific watch your county is under.

Depending where you live, East Texas is running about 5-15 inches above normal rainfall for the month of May, so any significant downpours could cause flash flooding much quicker than usual.
