Nearly 50% of COVID-19 Cases in Angelina County Have Recovered
I don't know about you, but it gets so tiresome and frustrating to get hit over the head everyday with terrible news concerning this pandemic. That's why I rejoice in sharing good news whenever and whenever I can.
According to a Facebook Post from the Angelina County Emergency Management, the Angelina County and Cities Health District (ACCHD) is reporting that 8 confirmed COVID-19 patients have been classified as recovered from this disease. That's nearly 50% of the 17 cases that have been confirmed through the ACCHD protocol.
In addition to the 8 recoveries, 7 persons are recovering at home, 1 is hospitalized, and 1 is classified as unreachable. This does not include the 3 new cases in Angelina County that were reported as of today (4/15), bringing the overall total of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 20.
Now, I realize that there are still many tough days ahead. Many more people in Deep East Texas will suffer through COVID-19, and it looks like social distancing directives will be in place for the foreseeable future. But, it's nice to know that we have had a healthy percentage of residents who have stared down this sickness and are now considered fully recovered.
Please continue to adhere to the directives of curbing the spread of this disease.
