Alma's Courthouse Whistle Stop Café is a treasure located in the heart of Livingston, Texas.  Just the name of the diner makes you want to go there and enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal.

On certain evenings, the café becomes a venue for a unique experience of music and dining.  Over the past year, Alma's Courthouse Whistle Stop Café has hosted performances by legendary artists such as Doug Stone, Gary Morris and Glen Templeton.

This Friday, December 17, Terry McBride will be performing at the venue.  Many will recall him from being the front man with the band McBride & The Ride.  In the 1990s, they released a number of top ten hits including 'Can I Count on You', 'Sacred Ground' and 'Just One Night'.

For the past couple of decades, Terry McBride has also been one of the most sought after songwriters by Nashville's top performers.  Here's just a sampling of songs that he co-wrote:

  • Amarillo Sky - Jason Aldean
  • Cowgirls Don't Cry - Brooks & Dunn
  • He's Got You - Brooks & Dunn
  • Beer Thirty - Brooks & Dunn
  • Proud of the House We Built - Brooks & Dunn
  • Every Scar Has a Story - Cody Johnson
  • Always Never the Same - George Strait

No doubt that Terry will be singing many of these songs Friday night at the show.

The doors to the café will open at 5 and a delicious, home-cooked meal will be served to all those who have purchased tickets.  Then, around 7 p.m., Terry McBride will perform.

It truly is a throwback to how many shows were done back in the 60s and 70s.  You may have been to concerts before in a large coliseum, but this is a wonderful, intimate performance with chances to interact with the performer.

Tickets are still available by calling 936-327-3222.
