Severe Storms Do Damage in East Texas

It's been a crazy night of severe storms across East Texas.

Extremely heavy rain, winds in excess of 70mph, and hail have lead to downed trees, some structural damage, and a number of power outages in the area.  Motorists that have moved through the Jacksonville to Rusk to Alto area have reported almost black out conditions and law enforcement officials in Cherokee County have asked persons to stay indoors.

As of 9:30, the leading edge of the severe storms are located near Groveton to Corrigan to north of Woodville.
