Late Christmas Eve and into the morning hours of Christmas Day, parts of East Texas may experience a White Christmas, however, this is NOT the kind you would like to see.
It's been a crazy night of severe storms across East Texas.
Extremely heavy rain, winds in excess of 70mph, and hail have lead to downed trees, some structural damage, and a number of power outages in the area.
UPDATED 3/20, 8:15am
Heavy showers and some thunderstorms are moving across the Pineywoods. The heaviest rain is in Northeastern Nacogdoches county. Heavy storms also indicated south of Lake Livingston. Flash Flood Warnings have been posted for the Tyler/Whitehouse area. Also, a tornado warning for central Harris county (Houston) has been issued. A Flash Flood Watch continues until tomorrow
Sometimes you have to take the bad with the good.
We desperately need the rain, but as an added bonus last night, we got the teeth of the storm as well. There were many reports of hail and tornadoes throughout the Pineywoods last night, and we could have a repeat tonight.
