The Angelina Benefit Rodeo gets underway this Wednesday and continues through Saturday at the George H Henderson, Jr. Expo Center in Lufkin.  One of the highlights each night is the mutton bustin' championships.

Patience, patience, patience. Thanks to patience, and one heck of a bear hug, Cash Pierce of Huntington won the mutton bustin' competition Saturday night at the Angelina Benefit Rodeo.

One third of the contestants at Friday night's mutton bustin' competition at the Angelina Benefit Rodeo were female.  And sure enough, it was a young lady that took home the trophy.

How good was the mutton bustin' Thursday night at the Angelina Benefit Rodeo?  How about 4 rides that topped 90 points!  When the dust and wool settled, Tristen Davis brought home the trophy with a ride of 98 points!

6-year-old Brody Oliver of Lufkin was the mutton bustin' champion of night one of the Angelina Benefit Rodeo with a monster ride of 93 points.  12 more riders will vie for the trophy tonight.

Night number two of the Angelina Benefit Rodeo at the George H Henderson Jr Expo Center in Lufkin brought more spills and thrills in mutton bustin'.  I've never seen more kids getting flipped, riding sideways, and getting faces full of dirt...but, they were all tough and came away with some great rides.
