The Band Perry Snag Best Country Duo/Group Performance at 2015 Grammy Awards

The Band Perry took home the honors for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2015 Grammy Awards in a pre-show ceremony on Sunday.

The sibling trio of Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry won for their cover of Glen Campbell's classic song 'Gentle on My Mind,' which appears on the soundtrack to the documentary film 'Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me.'

"It's always important for us to go back and touch home plate, and say, 'This is why we do what we do,'" Kimberly says of their rendition. "Our heartbeat is country music, and for us, that's what 'Gentle on My Mind' was all about."

'Gentle on My Mind' is no stranger to the Grammy Awards; the song won four in 1968, including Best Country & Western Song and Best Country & Western Recording.

The group was not on hand to accept the award, which presenter Rosanne Cash accepted on their behalf.
