Traffic Delays In Lufkin Possible Starting Monday

It is always good to get a "heads up"  about construction and possible delays so listen up!  Here is the latest from TXDot.

LUFKIN, Texas – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will start seal coat work on Timberland Drive/BU 59 in Lufkin Monday (April 30) morning. Motorists are urged to use caution and to expect delays.

The contractor, Moore Bros. Construction, of Lufkin, will start working from Loop 287 North to Kurth Drive on Monday. Work continues move southward Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from Kurth Drive to South First Street near Kiwanis Park. The nighttime operations will occur from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

According to TxDOT, once the seal coat work is completed, the contractor will place an overlay on the entire length of the job. Weather conditions could require altering the planned work schedule.

TxDOT encourages motorists to use caution when traveling through this and all work zones, and to obey all traffic control devices. Remember, traffic fines double when workers are present.
