The annual AirFest is ready to roll this Saturday at the Angelina County Airport just south of Lufkin.  Last year's event was cancelled due to scheduling and logistics issues brought on by Hurricane Harvey, so this year, AirFest director Brian Crews and the Lufkin detachment of the Marine Corps League are chomping at the bit to get this year's event up, up and away.

Gates will open at 9 a.m., but it is highly encouraged that you arrive to the grounds well before that time.  Access to the airport will be available by way of Highway 59, but a suggested alternate route is available.  Take Highway 58 southbound (by Lowe's) and go to FM 2108.  There will be a designated large parking area near the airport, from that point, you will ride a free shuttle bus to the main viewing area.  Once you get south of Lowe's, there will be plenty of signs directing you.

The 3rd Annual AirFest will feature Randy Ball flying the Mig 17, Jeremy Holt in the Pitts Pegasus, Justin Lewis in the FLS MicroJet, Mike Galloway's Extra 300, Kevin Moore in the L19 Bird Dog, Steve Afeman in the T6 Texan, Kate Kyer and Curt Richmond will be flying their Pitts aircraft, Stan Musick in the F4U Corsair, Craig Hutain flying the P63 Super Cobra, Randy Henderson in the Steerman, Cowan Ward with the P51 Mustang, Beth Jenkins in the B25 Mitchell Bomber, and headliner Kyle Franklin will be flying his Dracula and Drunk Comedy Routine.

Your invited to get up close, meet the pilots, and take pictures.  Some of the pilots will be offering rides in the aircraft such as Longhorn Helicopters out of Fort Worth.
