January just seemed to fly by and here we are a week deep into February.  It's time to start thinking about baseball.

Last year, Brandon Belt of the San Francisco Giants was one of Major League's hottest hitters in the 2nd half of the season.  He ended up with a batting average of .279 and he hit nearly 20 homers.  Even though Belt has made it to the 'Big Time', he and his wife still make their home in Hudson and he's quick to help his former baseball team whenever he can.

Today (Thursday), from 5-8, the Hudson baseball team invites to have your dinner at Whataburger located at Highway 94 and the West Loop in Lufkin.  25% of all receipts during that time will be donated to the program.  Plus, Brandon Belt will be there during that time signing autographs and posing for photos.

Then, on Saturday, the annual Hudson Alumni baseball game will be held at 3pm at the Hudson High School field.  This event features past Hornet players taking on the current roster.  Brandon Belt is scheduled to play in the game as well as take part in the home run derby which will get underway at 1pm.  Admission into the game is $4/adults, $2/kids or students.
