Mega Millions Soars to $1.5 Billion, East Texan Wins $1 Million!
💰No One Wins the Billion-Dollar Jackpot
💰Million Dollar Winner in Tyler, Texas
💰Tuesday's Mega Millions Drawing is for $1.55 BILLION
No one matched all six numbers in the Mega Millions drawing on Friday, August 4. That means the next drawing on Tuesday, August 8 will likely be the largest Mega Millions jackpot in history!
The current record was set in 2018 when the Mega Millions jackpot soared to $1.537 BILLION. It's estimated that the next drawing will be for a jackpot of $1.55 BILLION. The estimated cash value would be a little north of $757 million. After taxes and other deductions, it would be much lower, but still...you could easily afford to spend summers in a much cooler region.
An East Texas Millionaire
Even though the top prize wasn't won on Friday, there were a total of nine players who matched the first 5 numbers, that's good for $1 million. The numbers drawn on Friday were 11-30-45-52-56, with a Mega Ball of 20. One of those winning tickets was purchased in East Texas.
According to the Texas Lottery, that winning million-dollar ticket was purchased at the Super Food Mart located at 2030 West Gentry Parkway in Tyler. That individual did not choose the Megaplier option on that quick-pick ticket. That would have added an extra million dollars to the jackpot.
Just a hole-in-the-wall gas station in Tyler, but that winning ticket doesn't play favorites.
East Texas has been paying out as of late. Last month, someone in Huntington, Texas won a quarter of a million dollars on a scratch-off ticket.
Next Drawing
So, Tuesday, August 8, all eyes will be on the number machine as it spits out the six winning balls for a shot at history. As I mentioned, the estimated jackpot sits at $1.55 BILLION, but in many instances with jackpots this large, that number will probably go up.
Good Luck!!
