KICKS 105 St. Jude Radiothon Raises Over $102,000
For two days, the only thing that mattered on KICKS 105 was helping kids beat cancer with the annual Country Cares Radiothon benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital...and for two days, East Texans once again showed their wonderful heart.
Nearly $103,000 ($102,923) was raised in this year's Radiothon. A lot of folks in East Texas became Partners in Hope, but we had folks that listened in all that way from Hastings, New York, and they also joined the cause.
A special thanks to all of the many volunteers and sponsors that made this event possible and helped to make it a success. Thanks to Texas State Bank who once again stepped forward as our title sponsor. We had members of the Tri Delta Sorority from SFA who took time from their mid-terms to answer the phone. Thank you Jessica and your family (pictured above) for also answering phones and for sharing your beautiful story of Kayla and Dustin whose spirits continue to help so many children at St. Jude. Thank you to Rhonda, Corey, and Anne who answered the call to help in our phone bank.
Thanks to the many folks that donated incentive prizes for the Radiothon such as Scott with Big Dawg Outfitters who donated a guided catfishing trip for 4 on Lake Livingston, Luke with Shoot Perfect who donated a License to Carry course, John with Ball Out Bubble Zone who gave $100 gift certificates, and Jason who fashioned the Cornhole Boards pictured below.
Most of all, thank you to the children, parents, doctors, nurses, researchers, and all those on the front line who are meeting this battle with cancer head on. May God continue to bless you and bless your work.
